Awesome Features of the 2020 Ford Edge
If you’re in the market for a midsize SUV, the 2020 Ford Edge should be at the top of your shopping list. The Edge is better equipped than many vehicles in its class and its driving and handling characteristics make it feel more like a sedan. It’s offered in SE, SEL, the luxurious Titanium, and the high-performance ST trim levels. Here are four features of the Edge that make it a great choice.
Exterior Styling
The 2020 Edge is not a run-of-the-mill SUV. From its dynamic grille, through the sleek, fluid lines of the aerodynamic profile, to the stylish rear-end design, it demands attention. The SE sits on 18-inch alloy wheels and features a bright grille, bi-LED headlamps, configurable LED daytime running lights, power door mirrors, color-keyed door handles and rear spoiler, LED taillights, and a stainless-steel exhaust tip.
SEL models add LED fog lights and signature lighting, and color-keyed heated mirrors with approach lights and turn signals. The Titanium has chrome door handle inserts, 19-inch wheels, and a hands-free liftgate, while the ST gets unique badging and trim, a black mesh sports grille, and 20-inch wheels.
Interior Design
Inside, the contemporary cabin of the SE features intelligent access with push-button start, cloth seating, a 10-way power adjustable driving seat, 60/40 split-folding and reclining rear seats, dual-zone climate control, LED second-row and cargo area lights, four 12-volt power outlets, two USB charging ports, and the Sync 3 infotainment system.
SEL models offer simulated leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power passenger seat, easy fold second row, dual 4.2-inch configurable driver information displays, and a leather-bound steering wheel. The Titanium trim has remote start, leather upholstery, driver’s seat memory, ambient lighting, a charging pad, and a 110-volt power outlet. The ST features unique trim, embossed upholstery and sports pedals.
Power and Performance
SE, SEL, and Titanium models are powered by a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine delivering 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque to the front or all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The ST is exclusively all-wheel drive and features a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine that generates 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque.
The standard engine will return up to 21 and 29 mpg for city and highway driving. The ST gives you up to 19 and 26 mpg and can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 6.1 seconds. It has sport-tuned suspension and sharper steering, and for a thrilling driving experience, just put the ST into Sport mode.
Safety as Standard
Standard Ford Co-Pilot360 driver assistance features include traction control. roll stability control, curve control, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, a lane-keeping system, post-collision braking, and reverse parking sensors.
