Wine tasting with friends is relaxing and a great way to discover new and interesting wines. The wineries near North Warren, Pennsylvania, produce award-winning wines in all varieties. Allegheny Cellars Winery
If you are looking for a more rustic setting, head out to Allegheny Cellars Winery, located in the mountains of the Allegheny National Forest. The decor and wine names are drawn from wildlife and nature. Owners Tina West and Alan Chapel started the winery in 2007 and now produce over 15 varieties of award-winning red, white, blush and fruit wines. Hop into their tasting room to find a new favorite and take a bottle home. Be sure to try Bigfoot Shadows, their most popular sweet red. Winery at Wilcox
Also found in the mountains of the Allegheny National Forest, the Winery at Wilcox is one of the largest wineries in Pennsylvania. The Williams family opened the Winery at Wilcox in 1994 and they now produce almost 60,000 gallons of wine per year. Wilcox currently produces over 25 varieties of red, white, ports, and sparkling wines. If you stop in the Winery at Wilcox, be sure to try the unique cordial-style dessert wines. The Schwartzbeeren (100% blackberry) and Himbeeren (100% raspberry) are delightful on their own or served over ice cream as a dessert.

Flickerwood Wine Cellars
Known as the “Wine that Rocks,” Flickerwood Wine Cellars was opened by the Zampogna family in 2000. The Zampogna family is a musical one; family members play in the winery house band once a month. Flickerwood Wine Cellars produces 30 different wines. The whites, reds, blushes, and seasonal specialty wines are made to the highest standards. In addition to producing bottles of wine, the Zampogna family cans some of the reds and whites in a product called Zamp. While enjoying wine at Flickerwood, you can also enjoy pizzas, sandwiches, and appetizers from the in-house kitchen and coffee specialties from the Twisted Treats Coffee Bar.

Winery of Ellicottville
Since the Winery of Ellicottville opened in 2010, its wines have won over 80 medals in national competitions. This winery only makes wine from locally grown grapes and berries, and all wine is produced on-site. With old-world craftsmanship, the Winery of Ellicottville produces over 18 varieties of red, white, and dessert wines. You can try some of the wines in the recently renovated tasting room. The Winery of Ellicottville also holds special events, such as chocolate pairing nights or chef pairing nights that make for a great time out with friends. Don’t miss the unique berry hard cider, which is produced by blending hard cider with fruit wine.
